Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction

The Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction was established to recognize, honor, and celebrate graduates who have distinguished themselves through outstanding academic, professional, personal, and/or civic achievements and to inspire current students to pursue a path towards personal success. The Alumni Committee, comprised of both board members and community members, selected the current inductees from submitted nominations.

Class of 2016

Dr. Barry Tharp, Class of 1954, pediatric neurologist and Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at University of California, Davis School of Medicine 

Melina Carnicelli, Class of 1966, former Auburn mayor, educator, and businesswoman

Tom Lewis, Class of 1976, CFO of Johnston Paper, community volunteer and leader

Bob Dorsey, Class of 1976, Professor of Art at Rochester Institute of Technology and renowned portrait artist

Ken Davis, 1983, Earth Scientist, Professor at Penn State University and principal investigator for $30 million NASA climate change  grant awarded to Penn State

Amy Rankin, Class of 1999, inspirational survivor of a tragic accident and author of her journey while suffering a traumatic brain injury

The accomplishments of this year’s class certainly highlight what an Auburn education can do for its graduates!
